The Japan Foundation offers annual grant programs primarily in three key areas: Arts and Cultural Exchange, Japanese Language Education, and Japanese Studies and International Dialogue. These programs provide financial support, research fellowships, and other assistance to individuals and organizations engaged in international exchange activities. While the grant programs are managed by the Japan Foundation Headquarters in Tokyo, the Center in Vietnam serves as a liaison office, facilitating the submission of applications from Vietnam to the headquarters.
Every year, in September, the Japan Foundation releases application guidelines for projects to be implemented in the next fiscal year (from April 1 to March 31 of the following year). These guidelines are available online, with most application deadlines set for early December. However, some programs may have different deadlines.
If you are interested in applying for any of the grant programs, we strongly recommend reviewing the relevant program guidelines thoroughly in advance.
