The Japan Foundation is committed to enhancing the environment for Japanese language learning and education globally, ensuring that more people around the world can access opportunities to study Japanese.
In Vietnam, the demand for Japanese language education has significantly increased. According to the 2018 Japanese Language Education Institution Survey conducted by the Japan Foundation, there are approximately 175,000 Japanese language learners in Vietnam. These include around 31,200 university students, 26,200 junior and senior high school students, 2,000 elementary school students, and approximately 115,000 learners from language schools and internship organizations.
To respond to this growing demand and to improve the quality of Japanese language education in Vietnam, the Japan Foundation collaborates with the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, local Departments of Education and Training, and various educational institutions such as universities to carry out a wide range of projects.
