The Japan Foundation has produced a documentary film on “LIGHT UP NIPPON” project planned and conducted by young Japanese volunteers as a requiem prayer with thousands of fireworks display on August 11th for those who lost their lives in devastated Tohoku region by the Great East Japan Earthquake. We will broadcast the film in approximately 120 countries around the world through cable TV stations or satellite broadcasting networks. The documentary film will send a message of Japanese people’s strong wish for recovery from the disaster, and introduce challenges by Japanese young generation to the world. The documentary film will be broadcast on the Internet as well.
