The image of Teru Teru Bouzu – known as a weather doll with a bald head, hanging on the balcony or window, is so distinctively ‘Japan’ in the rainy season. The gray sky and sound of the rain sometimes make people sorrow, so in Japanese custom, people make this little doll with a wish in their heart: “Tomorrow the sun will shine bright.” 

But it’s not only the rain that always bothers people. “I wish for a nice day to go on a picnic”, “Hope she’ll be happy and date me”, “Brighter future!”, etc. 

Now the COVID-19 pandemic turns everyone’s life differently. We wish to bring this iconic doll to every Vietnamese. Our wish now comes true, what more are you waiting for? 

Watching this short tutorial to understand how easy it is to make one. If you can make it in your own style and any materials such as reusing your daily trash etc., even better!

2. TAKE Photo(s) and/or VIDEO RECORD the doll(s) (preferably decorated, creatively presented entries).
3. UPLOAD the Photo(s) and/or the video(s) to the contest event page (include the link), with a description and HASHTAG #jfteruteru. Description could include: Materials used, Making process, Ideas, Positive wishes, etc.
