Online activity: Reading Japanese Ehon book
A free and interesting event for kids
My little friends, the rainy season is finally here and it’s easing out the sweltering heat of the summer sun.
At this moment, because of the pandemic, we cannot meet up face to face like we used to 🙁 Instead, the Library of the Japan Foundation in Vietnam will organize an Online Ehon Reading Event for our reunion. Let us all have a little fun and excitement together during this difficult time.
Joining the event, children and parents are going to listen to an interesting Ehon book about Rain called: Cover Umbrella for You!
After the Reading activity, we will introduce you to a familiar friend of all Japanese, both children and adults: Teru Teru Bouzu – a weather doll. In Japan, the rainy season is usually in June. In this season, when the rain lasts a long time, people wish to have a nice weather day to go out or have a picnic etc., they often make Teru Teru Bouzu and hang it outside the balcony or on the window frame. This tiny doll will smile through such tempestuous fallen rain and try their best to make your wish come true!
That’s why, little friends, let’s join and experience the fun of making Teru Teru Bouzu to pray for a bright and sunny future where the pandemic comes to an end!
