VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Japan Foundation is Japan’s principal organization for promoting international cultural exchange. Opened in 2008, the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam (hereinafter called “the Center”), one of the foundation’s newest overseas offices, has been enthusiastically implementing a diverse range of cultural activities including art, culture and society, and coordinating various programs supporting Japanese language education and Japan studies, in cooperation with the Vietnamese counterparts.

We are looking for a Librarian to provide the daily services at the Center’s library with the following conditions:

Main tasks (but not limited):
– To provide such daily services as management of collected items (i.e., books, magazines, DVDs, etc.) as well as facilities, rental services, reference services at the Center’s library
– To assist the Center’s cultural events on site (i.e., as a receptionist at a theatre, an exhibition hall, etc.)

Qualifications: 

– Age less than 28 with Vietnamese nationality
– Holding a Bachelor degree in relevant field
– A good command of English
– A good command of Japanese (equivalent to JLPT N3 or above)
– Strong and enthusiastic interest in Japanese arts and culture
– Basic knowledge on using Microsoft Office (word, excel, access, etc.) to manage the database of collection items
– Good team player with strong interpersonal skills
– A good attitude to warmly welcoming guests

Working conditions:

– Working days: (Basically) Tuesday to Saturday
– Working time: 09:30 to 18:00 (including one hour lunch time)
– Salary: Upon negotiation (within a modest scale)
– Benefits: 12 days of annual leave, 3 days of summer leave, a social and health insurance and so on.
